We are descended from Marion Tidwell Horton and his first wife Mary Elizabeth Roe. But Mary Elizabeth died July 17, 1899 and Marion remarried (somewhere I think I have his second wife's name).
This is consisent with two property deeds that I found in the Commanche County courthouse.
Marion bought 80.75 acres on November 1, 1899. See that only his name is on the deed: M. T. Horton (no wife):

When  he sold the land December 5, 1900, his new wife is included as a grantor (but only by her initials "M. A"):

Post Labeling

When you add labels to a post, the blog is set up to automatically add a new tab to the site. Here is an example. Before I add this post, you will see only one tab:

Next, I will add a new post with the label "Coonie" and you will see how the blog automatically adds a new tab. Note the "Labels" area in the top right menu on the blog:

When published, the new "Coonie" label will appear:

Please keep in mind that there is only so much room in the tab bar. Once it fills up, I will start paring down the tabs. However, all posts will still be accessible in the right-hand column menu.

How to Contribute a Post

Use the following instructions to contribute a new post to the blog.

First, click the "New Post" button at the top right of the blog page:

Then, create your blog using the following 4 steps:

Inserting a Link to an External Web Page Within a Post

If you need to post a link to an external web page, use the following instructions:

Go to that web page and copy the full URL to your clipboard:

Return to Blogger and paste the link into your post and select the "Link" option:

Next, you will want to ensure that the external web page opens in a separate window/tab:

Choose the "Open this link in new window" checkbox and click OK:
